Group Yoga Classes
These are the most common queries for people who are interested in our in-person classes and online classes conducted in groups.
Q 1
What makes Absolute Yoga different from other studios?
Absolute Yoga is an established yoga studio where teachers are qualified from schools of reputed and traditional lineage. We offer various styles and types of yoga classes but maintain the traditional approach and equipment in our classes. Our classes accommodate people from various levels of experience and physical capabilities. Our teaching is deep, nuanced and varied so that the students get a vast range of experience and a deeper understanding.
Q2
How many classes should I attend per week to see results?
An average of three classes a week over a sustained period of 3 months is a good ballpark number to see considerable results. One starts noticing the effects of the practice from week one itself but to see a measurable impact, three months of practice would be ideal.
Q3
What should I bring for my first class?
Apart from an open mind and positive attitude, one must wear clothes that are comfortable to move in, a bottle of water and a napkin for personal hygiene. Yoga mats are available at the studio, however we recommend use of personal mats for better hygiene.
Q4
Do you offer trial classes?
Yes, we do offer a free trial class.
Q5
What types of yoga do you teach?
We teach Hata Yoga, Pranayama and Meditation, Vinyasa Yoga, Yin Yoga, Yoga with Props, Mobility with Props and Aerial Yoga. We also have special classes for pre-natal yoga
Q6
Can yoga help with weight loss and strength?
Yoga can be very effective in weight loss and strength building. A regular practice over a sustained period of 3 months or more can show remarkable results by arresting metabolic or hormonal imbalances, reducing stress and building better muscle tone.
Q7
I’m not flexible, can I still do yoga?
Flexibility is not a prerequisite but a result of yoga practice.
Q8
Do you offer online classes?
We offer online classes and have batches in the mornings and evenings.
Q9
How can I track my progress?
You can track your progress by assessing the improvement in the ease of holding asanas for a longer time and by assessing the quality of your breath and improvement in regulating your breath during the practice.
Q10
Can I join if I have an injury or medical condition?
If the injury or medical condition is not major and allows you to do movements with limited restrictions, you can join the group classes and seek advice from the teacher on movements or postures that you should avoid or modify for your particular condition. If the condition or injury is severe, then please consider personal one-to-one classes.
Q11
How soon will I start seeing changes?
While you will start seeing small changes like better sleep, a calmer mind and improved mobility and flexibility in the first couple of weeks itself, three months is a good time to see measurable results.
Q12
Do you have short-term or drop-in plans?
Yes, we have plans for drop-in classes and monthly memberships with the option to choose 12 classes a month or more.
